When it comes to Irish music, Joel Andersson is one of the best diatonic harmonic players around. The Swedish born musician is among the best interpreters of Irish music worldwide, and in 2017 he finished 2nd at the World Harmonica Championships. Together with internationally renowned fiddle player Paddy Lawless, they’ll take the stage at the Harmonica F E N Festival as The Early House.
The Swedish – Irish duo create an impressive dialogue between two instruments, which inhabit a similar tonal range. Where others avoid these tonal similarities in register, Andersson and Lawless have welded their sound. In the tradition of Irish music, The Early House has succeeded in creating a unique and fascinating interaction of melody and accompaniment between their two instruments.
