With a fantastic line-up, we will once again demonstrate the diversity and versatility of the harmonica in 2026. Join us from 29 to 31 May when we bring our big little instrument to the stage of the Kesselhaus and Maschinenhaus at the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin for the third time.
Over three days, you can experience the harmonica across a wide variety of genres: jazz from the Netherlands, old-time music from the USA and Finnish folk; Brazilian, country and Chicago blues; oriental jazz and Indian ragas.
With the concert by the Free Reeds All Star Ensemble we also have a very special surprise for you. The internationally renowned sheng master Wu Wei has not only taken on the patronage of our festival’s musical programme; he will also be taking to the stage himself with the sheng – the mother of all ‘free-reed instruments’. Together with well-known players of the jaw harp, harmonica and accordion, he will give a fascinating improvisational concert – the last time this happened in Berlin was 30 years ago!
